Infront to Remain IBU’s Exclusive Marketing Partner until 2029/30 Season

Infront and IBU will celebrate their 36 years of partnership in the 2030 season. The partnership allows IBU to plan its reinvestment into biathlon.

Wanda Sports Group company based in Switzerland, Infront Sports & Media AG has taken its partnership with International Biathlon Union (IBU), the international governing body of biathlon headquartered in Austria, into the third decade. Infront’s exclusive marketing rights partnership with IBU has been extended to the 2029/30 season. The two organizations will celebrate their 36 years of partnership in the 2030 season. Earlier, Infront’s marketing rights only included IBU World Championship and IBU World Cup events. The extension of the partnership now adds IBU Junior Cup and IBU Cup to Infront’s portfolio.

“Through Target 26, IBU’s strategic plan, our organization is committed to fulfilling our sport’s tremendous potential, and IBU’s progressive Infront partnership will support our organization in doing that. The agreement allows our organization to plan IBU’s reinvestment into the sport and guarantees our organization long-term sponsors’ support as IBU aims to enhance our events, innovate our future, and extend our reach. Infront is a familiar partner, but a progressive one, and I’m looking forward to writing the next chapter in our organization’s history with them,” said Olle Dahlin, President of IBU.

Target 26 provides framework for biathlon’s future success

“Biathlon is and will remain a highly attractive advertising platform and a fascinating sport. Infront has agreed with IBU for setting the highest possible benchmark when it comes to the implementation of sustainable, environmentally friendly, and innovative methods for attracting commercial partners. The long-term partnership offers an excellent opportunity to Infront and IBU’s sponsors to implement, collaborate, and plan their future strategy already as of now,” said Stefan Krauss, Infront VP Winter Sports.

IBU’s Target 26 constitution and strategic plan was approved and developed by the organization’s membership. Having five key targets, it provides a framework for biathlon’s future success as a sport and builds on IBU’s strong foundation.
