MCAM has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of c-m-p GmbH. The acquisition is expected to close in March 2020.
Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials AG (MCAM), a global high-performance thermoplastics company headquartered in Switzerland, has signed an agreement to acquire c-m-p GmbH, a German manufacturer of textiles and prepregs made of carbon and other high-performance fibers. Expected to complete in early March 2020, the acquisition agreement has been signed through Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials GmbH, MCAM’s German subsidiary. MCAM has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of c-m-p, which had been a 50/50 partnership between DowAksa B.V. and c-m-p’s original founders. The agreement will help MCAM to further solidify its position in the composites market.

The acquisition will allow c-m-p to benefit from Mitsubishi Chemical’s technology developments, customer relationships, and worldwide network of industry partners. c-m-p will also be exposed to new market expertise, specialized skills, and technologies. In addition to its capabilities in the US and Asia, Mitsubishi Chemical will become capable to produce prepregs materials in Europe with the help of the acquisition.
